Responsibilities:

• Support the Store Manager and the entire store team in daily operations, including managing cash handling procedures and ensuring adherence to company policies, all while developing fundamental store management capabilities.
• Contribute to the analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) by providing insights on sales trends, inventory levels, and customer feedback to the Store Manager, utilizing basic retail math concepts to understand business performance and identify opportunities.
• Develop an understanding of effective team leadership and coaching techniques, learning how to motivate and guide store associates to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.
• Cultivate positive working relationships with store personnel by actively participating in team meetings, assisting with training initiatives, and addressing operational challenges to ensure smooth store functioning and a positive work environment.
• Become proficient in utilizing store-specific systems and technologies related to point-of-sale (POS), inventory management, and scheduling.
• Enhance your understanding of Ross's merchandise by regularly walking the sales floor, observing customer interactions, and staying informed about new arrivals and promotional activities.
• Share observations and insights about product performance and customer preferences with the Store Manager to inform merchandising decisions.
• Monitor the flow of merchandise to the sales floor, ensuring timely processing and accurate placement, and communicate any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate team members.
• Assist the Store Manager in preparing for store meetings, conducting store walks, and supporting the execution of visual merchandising standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills: You can effectively communicate with associates and customers, actively listen to their needs, and build rapport.
